At UpFix, we take pride in the quality of our repair services and strive to ensure customer satisfaction. This Warranty & Refund Policy outlines how we evaluate returns and refunds for services performed, including procedures customers must follow before a refund can be issued.
By using our services, you agree to abide by the terms in this policy.
Shipping charges and bench test fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
UpFix warrants only the specific repair work performed on a unit and does not guarantee the performance of unrelated components or systems. UpFix also holds the right to repair the item at no additional cost or provide a refund equivalent to the initial repair fee paid by the customer when a malfunction is attributed to failed components or substandard workmanship within the warranty period.
This warranty is exclusively for the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Warranty coverage is also subject to the lifespan of the product or system into which it is integrated.
If a component fails within the warranty period due to issues directly related to the original repair, the customer may return the unit to UpFix for evaluation.
Customers must contact UpFix for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before sending back any unit. Units returned without authorization may not be accepted.
Return Shipping
For U.S. Customers:
If the RMA is approved, during the first 90 days, shipping is covered both ways. UpFix will generate a FedEx return label for sending the unit back under warranty.
After 90 days, the customer is responsible for shipping both to and from UpFix.
For International Customers:
UpFix cannot generate return shipping labels for international returns.
Customers are responsible for shipping the unit both to and from UpFix.
2. Evaluation & Troubleshooting Assistance
UpFix may offer troubleshooting steps or require additional diagnostics to help identify whether the failure is related to the original repair or external causes.
Customers are expected to cooperate with these steps prior to refund approval.
UpFix cannot guarantee the accuracy or comprehensiveness of information provided for troubleshooting, and UpFix is not responsible for incorrect diagnoses performed by third parties.
3. What Refunds Cover & Proof of Failed Service Requirement
If a refund is approved:
- The refund amount will equal the original repair fee paid to UpFix, excluding shipping and handling.
- Shipping charges are not refundable.
- Programming fees are not refundable.
- Rush Service charges are non-refundable after 90 days.
- Bench test fees are non-refundable.
Proof of Failed Service Requirement
For refund requests submitted after a part has been serviced, UpFix requires verifiable documentation confirming that the serviced unit did not resolve the issue.
Acceptable documentation includes:
- A diagnostic scan report from a licensed dealership or certified mechanic clearly stating that the unit serviced by UpFix remains faulty and requires replacement, or
- A receipt or invoice for a replacement module confirming the serviced unit was replaced to correct the issue.
UpFix reserves the right to deny any refund request if the required documentation is not provided or does not clearly support that the serviced unit is defective.
4. Peace-of-Mind Repairs
In some cases, we may not find any fault with the unit, or we may be able to repair some but not all reported issues. When this occurs, UpFix may recommend a Peace-of-Mind Repair.
Peace-of-Mind Repair Includes:
- Full refurbishment of the unit
- Bench testing
- Reading and clearing all codes
- Optimization to help prevent future issues
Important Notes:
- UpFix will always contact you for approval before performing a Peace-of-Mind Repair.
- This is a one-time refurbishment service.
- Because it is not tied to a confirmed failure, it does not come with a warranty.
- Peace-of-Mind services are non-refundable.
5. Exclusions
Refunds will not be issued when:
- The issue is caused by external factors such as improper installation, unrelated wiring, failed systems outside the repaired component, or physical damage after service.
- The customer replaces the unit before contacting UpFix or sending it back for diagnosis.
- Proof of purchase for a replacement unit is not provided when required.
- Troubleshooting steps recommended by UpFix Tech Support were not attempted.
6. Rush Service
Rush Service is optional and accelerates the repair process.
- Rush Service is not guaranteed. If UpFix does not meet the rush timeframe, the fee will be removed.
- Rush Service applies only to the repair process, not shipping.
- Rush Service fees are non-refundable after 90 days.
7. Liability Release & Cap
Liability Release: UpFix shall be released from all forms of liability, including but not limited to loss of profits, income, product, production, increased operational costs, rental vehicle fees, or other losses connected with the utilization of services offered by UpFix.
Third-Party Diagnostic Fees: UpFix does not cover any third-party fees incurred for diagnosing issues. We are electronic technicians specializing in repairing a specific component of the vehicle. We cannot be held responsible if a customer needs outside assistance to determine the root cause of their vehicle’s issue.
Liability Cap: Under no circumstances will UpFix be held accountable for damages exceeding the total repair cost paid to UpFix by the customer.
8. How to Initiate a Return or Refund Request
- Contact UpFix Support for RMA authorization and troubleshooting guidance. Important: Do not return your part without contacting Technical Support first.
- Include proof of purchase for any replacement unit, if applicable.
- After evaluation, UpFix will determine whether a refund or rework is appropriate.
